Cedar Breaks is the highest point on the Colorado Plateau. This photo looks West onto the Basin and Range Province. In the distance, running across the top of the photo, (though not actually visible), runs I-15 connecting Salt Lake City, Utah - out of sight to the North (right), with Las Vegas, Nevada - out of sight to the South (left). |

Bryce Canyon, lower in elevation than Cedar Breaks but still quite high, is famous for its spectacular rock formations. |

I frequently use a polarizing filter to reduce glare. The filter, by reducing glare, makes the colors more vivid and can make the sky a very dark, dramatic blue. |

| Zion National Park is different from the other canyon national parks. In this park you are at the bottom looking up. In the others, like Grand Canyon, you stand on the rim and look down. | |||||||||||||||||

Arches National Park has been one of my favorite places. The arches are spectacular, the rock formations are unusual, and the hiking is easy. |
