At 16, I was finally able to drive myself from home in Troy, NY to Tanglewood in Lennox, MA and listen to the Boston Symphony. There, sitting on the lawn, I first witnessed Beethoven's 9th; and, for  this impressionable teen,  witnessed was the proper word.

Now a much older Chicagoan I, attend CSO in the winter and Ravinia in the summer. Though I can now afford seats, I still enjoy the lawn.

Here are four photos taken on June 24, 2001. A lovely, cool, non-mosquito night.
