Good Hearted Wrongs                                                                May 24, 2004

 Dear Nephew,

Abe’s son, Don, came by today with some fresh-baked blueberry muffins his Mom sent over.

He’s still disheartened about not being able to do character assignations for Bush & Co. (Letter of 5/21/04)

Well, never mind that.

I told Don about the letter I sent you yesterday  concerning Michael Moore and his new movie.(Letter of 5/23/04)

Don says I’m being too hard on Jeb Bush. Jeb, he says, would never stoop to canceling Disney’s tax breaks. Jeb’s just too good hearted.

"Just look," he insisted, "How Jeb’s intervened to keep Terri Schindler-Schiavo alive for her parents, ignoring the legal rights of her husband. In this way," Don went on enthused, "Jeb’s making amends for all the little boys and girls who’ve disappeared from Florida’s foster homes."

Well, Nephew, as I see it, two wrongs or more don’t make a right no matter how you gloss it over.

Yours truly,
Great Aunt Maggie Pye
