A Faith-Based Vote                                                                August 18, 2004

Dear Nephew,

Abe’s son Don came over again with more of his Mom’s blueberry muffins, piping hot.

Fresh out of college but still green as grass, he laid out another of his hair-brained conclusions.

Says he’s going to vote for Bush.

“The problem with Kerry,” he declared, “is his religion. Being Catholic, when Kerry gets God’s advice for running America, it’s got to come through the Pope. But Bush gets God’s advice direct, one-on-one. And this direct connection beats a President who’d run America based on hearsay.”

Well, Nephew, Don’s train of thought might get someone to vote for Bush but, to me, the lad’s just hooked onto another loco motive.

With apologies for the pun,
Yours Truly,
Great Aunt Maggie Pye
